Who Needs a Visa to Visit Bosnia and Herzegovina?

If you’re a citizen of any country on the following lists, you’ll not need to apply for a visa to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.

If your country is on either list, you can stay for up to 90 days without a visa (if arriving by air).

  • Other countries: Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, the USA

Note: There are also certain circumstances where citizens of these countries may be able to get an airport transit visa at the airport before travelling on through Bosnia and Herzegovina.

How to Apply for a Visa

If you’re travelling to Bosnia and Herzegovina, there are several ways to apply for a visa. The first is to apply online at the embassy’s website. This option is available only in Washington, DC; London; Berlin; or Paris.

The second way to apply for your visa is by mail.

You can do this by printing out the appropriate forms from the embassy’s website, filling them out by hand (if you don’t have access to a printer), and mailing them back via registered mail with tracking information so that they can confirm that it arrived.

The third way of applying for your visa is through an agent who will take care of everything on your behalf—postal applications included!
