You can apply for a visa up to 3 months before your trip to Mauritius. You can apply for a visa online, by post or at the airport.

Need to submit:

  • Your passport number and expiry date (if it’s not valid)
  • Proof of travel arrangements such as air tickets or hotel reservations as well as evidence of non-refundable deposits on accommodation, car rentals etc., if applicable;

  • Tourist visa: A single entry visa allows you to enter the country and stay in Mauritius for up to 90 days. This type of visa is valid for one year from its issue date. You will need to pay a fee when applying for this type of visa (see below).
  • Business/investment/work permit: A multiple-entry business visa, which allows you to enter the country and stay there without having any documentation required from your employer or company showing that they have invited you onto their premises as an employee-employer relationship exists between them; therefore it does not require any further documentation such as employment contracts etcetera when applying for this type of work permit.

You can apply for a visa up to 3 months before your trip if you have an invitation letter or letter of introduction from a Mauritian resident or friend who lives in Mauritius and knows someone who works in the embassy there (or similar).
